I come across a lot of cool people. Somehow I find myself rubbing elbows with variety of unique characters doing epic stuff.
That being said, I feel a need to introduce these people to others. So, here’s what I’m going to do…
I will spotlight these creatives here on my blog.
Spotlight – to direct attention to
I have a buddy who recently signed with Talib Kweli. One guy I met picked up to start living and working abroad. Another friend of mine helped an independent artist get on the Billboard Hip Hop List. What’s my point?
I’m blessed to meet good people going great places. Now, I feel it is my duty to introduce these characters to you for 4 reasons.
The 4 Reasons to Spotlight
1) Promote creativity.
Creativity flourishes when appreciated. This will serve as a platform to appreciate artwork. My hope is to help spread the word for artists developing their craft.
2) Learn from other creators.
Creators teach us a lot about life with their artwork. We can learn more about being human, trusting our instincts, and expressing our true self. They also can guide us to new found sources of inspiration.
3) Document history in the making.
Personally, I predict many of these people will have massive impact. I want to capture a unique perspective of people en route to becoming living legends.
4) Connect people.
“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one destiny, affects all indirectly.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
My ultimate hope is to play my role as destiny’s servant and connect people meant to be connected.
Come back this Friday for the first official Spotlight.
